Terms of Use and Policies

1. Eligibility to Use the Service
Only individuals or entities that meet the following conditions may use our services: you must be able to enter into a legally binding contract with Lingoba and must comply with these Terms of Use as well as all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, rules, and regulations. Any use or access to the Service by individuals under the age of 13 is strictly prohibited and constitutes a violation of these terms. Any user who has previously been removed from the Service by Lingoba is not permitted to use the Service again. You must also confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or, if you are under 18, that you have obtained permission from a parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for your compliance with these terms.
2. Creating and Using an Account
Through your Lingoba account, you may access various services and features that we may establish and maintain from time to time at our sole discretion. We may maintain different types of accounts for different types of users. When creating an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account, and you must ensure the security of your account password. You must immediately notify Lingoba of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account. Lingoba shall not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
3. Account Controls
You can control your user profile and how you interact with the Service by changing the settings on the “Settings” page. By providing your email address, you agree that we may use that email address to send you service-related notices, including notices required by law, instead of communicating by postal mail. We may also use your email address to send you other messages, such as changes to service features and special offers. If you do not wish to receive such emails, you may opt out or change your preferences on the “Settings” page. Please note that opting out may prevent you from receiving emails regarding updates, improvements, or promotions.
4. Paid Services
Under these terms, we provide certain services to you free of charge within specified limits. If you require services beyond these limits, you will need to purchase additional services by buying Lingoba Credits. Pricing for paid services can be found on individual teacher profiles, and we may update pricing from time to time (or provide a URL for pricing). By using the paid portions of the Service, you expressly agree to these pricing terms.
5. Credit Top-Up
Credits are Lingoba’s universal virtual currency, where 1 Credit equals 1 US dollar. You may top up Credits using multiple currencies and payment methods, including but not limited to RMB and USD. Exchange rates are calculated based on the actual rate on the day of payment. Credit top-ups support both debit and credit card payments.
6. Credit Validity and Refunds
Credits do not expire. Purchased Credits are refundable without conditions. Refund amounts will be processed based on the exchange rate and payment method used at the time of payment.
7. Booking Lessons
When booking a lesson, an amount of Credits equal to the lesson price will be frozen. Once the booking is confirmed, you will be entitled to receive the teaching service for the booked time slot.
8. Lesson Cancellation Policy
If a lesson is canceled more than 2 hours before the scheduled start time, the full amount of Credits will be refunded. If canceled between 2 hours and 30 minutes before the start time, 50% of the Credits will be refunded. Cancellations are not permitted within 30 minutes of the lesson start time.
9. Lesson Settlement
After the lesson is completed, the teacher will settle the lesson, and the frozen Credits will be deducted accordingly. If the lesson cannot be conducted due to teacher-related or system-related reasons, the full amount of Credits will be refunded. If the lesson cannot be conducted due to student-related reasons, the full amount will be charged.
Please read and fully understand these Terms of Use carefully, as they govern the conditions and responsibilities associated with your use of Lingoba’s services. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. By continuing to use the Service, you acknowledge that you accept and agree to be bound by these terms.
